I found the best way to measure the hoof was to put a board (or old large hardback book) on the floor with a piece of paper and to get down and actually draw around it. What really concerns me is that we have the spring grass coming in and her feet are likely to stay at least the width they are or possibly do a bit of splatting so how much tollerance for growth between trims is there? Trouble is, if I go to a size 4 to get that extra 1mm in width she is bang on the bottom of the width range which goes up to 150mm and worse still the length fits 151mm-163mm which is way longer than her foot.Ĭ) is there something else other than the Easyboot make better suited to more rounded feet that fits below the hairline? Trouble is that the size 3's show the sizing as being up to 139mm for width but at the lower range for length which is 141mm-150mm. This leaves me with the Easyboot range as I want a boot that fits below the hairline. That'll teach me to read things through properly  Reading the fitting guide properly, I've realise they are going by boot size rather than foot size on the sizing guide so they're a definite no no. The proplem I have is that the Renegades won't fit. The length is comming up at very little over the width when I do it by eye minus the straight edge trick, within a few mm or the width each time I've measured in my numpty manner. I read today that the best bet is to hold a straight edge across the butress and measure to that so I'll have yet another go tomorrow to get and exact measurement. The length is harder as, numpty that I am, I'm holding the tape measure from toe to mid heel and trying to approximate by eye what the length is to the butress. She measures at 5 1/4 inches (140mm) and this is what I always get after a trim. Problem is that Joy is within 1mm of being between 2 sizes based on width. I had another measure of Joy's feet today.
